Plain-English policy
Privacy without fine print.
DROP is designed to answer simple device questions without turning your results into a data product.
Site & tools
There are no accounts and no application database. Tools primarily process information locally in your browser. We do not intentionally collect or store tool inputs or results. Some ordinary hosting infrastructure may still process standard request data such as your IP address, requested URL and browser headers.
Camera and microphone
Access begins only after you choose to start a test and approve the browser permission. Microphone audio is analysed locally for a live level and is not recorded. Webcam video appears only in your local preview and is not recorded. Tracks are stopped when you end a test or leave the page.
Public IP exception
A browser cannot normally discover its public IP address entirely locally. If you choose to run the IP tool, your browser sends a request directly to ipify. ipify necessarily receives your public IP address and standard request information in order to return the result. DROP does not proxy or store this result, and no request is made until you press the continue button. Please review ipify’s privacy policy for how that third party handles request data.
Analytics
Google Analytics is not currently loaded. It may later be enabled to understand aggregate site usage. If enabled, it will be disclosed separately as a third party, and tool inputs and results must never intentionally be included in analytics events.
Storage
DROP does not use local storage or cookies to save tool results. A small local browser preference remembers whether you selected the light or dark theme; it contains no tool input or result. Browser permission choices are controlled and may be remembered by your browser, not by DROP.
